I just changed some settings on the message board.

IMPORTANT: You now MUST register and sign in in order to see anything posted on the ski team message board.

I did this as a way to keep out anonymous spammers. It also gives users more privacy knowing that only other ski teamers can read what’s posted.

The name you create when you register must include your first and last name and match up with a name on the ski team roster (or it will be deleted). If you are not a ski team member, but a friend of ski team and would like access to the message board, let me know and I will likely give you special permission.

As you all should know, you now must post under the designated topic in the message board in order to sign up for races. The link to the message board is in the left hand navigation bar – happy posting!

REMINDER: You MUST attend one of these meetings in order to join the OSU ski and board team:
Tuesday Oct. 17th at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday Oct. 19th at 6:30 p.m.
Both are in MEETING ROOM TWO at the RPAC ( on the second floor in the hallway behind the basketball courts.)
AND everyone MUST fill out this online paperwork and bring it to the meeting with you. (The system has been changed from the old pen and paper system). Once you are done filling it out, you need to print it out and bring it to the meeting with you. If you don’t have a printer, or you can’t borrow someone elses, please let me know. Message from Sarah: I tried sending out all of this info earlier but for some reasons no one received them. I am sorry for that but I am not really sure what happened. If you can not make it to the meeting because of my short notice please let me know and we can make plans to meet. This needs to be done in the next week to ensure everything can get done in time.

Prices for this year are as follows:

Season pass to Snowtrails: $190
Season pass plus rental: $270
Season pass plus lessons: $230
Season pass plus rental and lessons: $310

Regular dues: $120
Dues without racing: $80

For most people the total cost will be as follows:
Season pass: $190
Regular dues: $120
Total: $310

There is also the (not recommended) option of getting a pick a day season pass, which is $130.

Everyone must have their dues paid by Oct. 23. We will hold a meeting for everyone to pay their dues in mid-October. When the officers tell me the date I will post it here. If you are unable to make that meeting you must give your check to one of the officers.

Come to one of our informational meetings to find out everything you’ll need to know to be a part of the OSU Ski and Board Team this season. Everyone who is interested in joining should attend one of these.

Thurs Sept 28, 6-7 pm – Meeting Room #2

Once you swipe to go through the gate in the RPAC lobby, go up the stairs to the second floor and take a right. Pass the basketball courts and take another right. Both rooms are in that hallway. There will be signs posted. If you still can’t find it, ask a member of the RPAC staff.

Hello cyber snow bunnies…

Just a reminder to check us out at the Student Involvement Fair to get a feel for the club, and find out what being on OSU ski team is all about.

The fair is on the Oval from noon to 4pm on Monday Sept 18. We’ll be in the sports club section. See you there!

The ski team is having its first fundraiser this year. We are cleaning the Schottenstein Center. We need at least 22 people to come and participate so the clean up goes smooth and fast. The date is Saturday, June 3rd and it is at 9:15 p.m.

We will meet at the Schottstein center at the South West Rotunda at 9:00 pm. If you are driving, you can park in Grey lots 1 and 2. The clean up takes about 3 hours, but the more people the better. I don’t see it taking that long because it is a high school gradution, not a concert, so I doubt people will be eating nachos and cheese while all dressed up, so yeah. But, just in case, please schedule the alloted time down. Plus, we can always go out afterwards Everybody knows that I know how to have fun, so we will just make a night out of it if you want!

We will be making $450 and only the people that show will benefit from that money! So, please try your best to come out and help!! Support the ski team! Ohio State Ski and Snowboard Team is all over Spring Break.

Our members have planned three seperate trips! Two ski trips, and one beach trip. Even if you’re not on ski team, contact me at shaheensamavati@osuskiteam.com and I can give you more information on these trips.

Here are the trips and the estimated costs:

March 17-24 – Whistler, British Columbia, CA. 7 days. Total cost is about $900 including airfare. Some of the best skiing in the world.

March 18 and 19 – Snowshoe 24 – West Virginia- A 24 hour relay race, can have a maximum of four people on a team. Visit the ski team message board to form teams. Cost is $75 for registration and lift tickets, plus gas and lodging.

March 19-24 – Hilton Head, North Carolina – for fun in the sun (no skiing). Total cost should be about $190, driving.
